Picosure is considered the gold standard in laser tattoo removal. The technology from this laser delivers ultra-short pulses of thermal energy in picosecond to heat up and break apart tattoo inks that are easily eliminated by the body. This highly effective procedure requires fewer treatments while providing outstanding results.

Why Picosure for Tattoo Removal?

Picosure is 3X faster tattoo removal technology. The Picosure delivers ultra-short pulses of thermal energy in a picosecond to heat up and break apart tattoo inks that are easily eliminated by the body. Unlike other tattoo removal systems, the Picosure is acoustic not thermal so it doesn’t heat the area being treated. It will mechanically explode the pigmented cells and your body will naturally repair the injured cells. This technology can remove all tattoo ink colours and is most effective with dark-coloured tattoos. It will also require less sessions compared to other tattoo removal machines on the market.

The Picosure is:

  • Safe and highly effective
  • Minimal discomfort or pain
  • Little or no side effects
  • Removes difficult colours
  • Requires less treatment sessions
  • Minimal injury to surrounding skin

Does tattoo removal hurt?

At Laser Advantage we will be cooling the area with a special machine (the Zimmer). Pronox will also be available if needed but most report it’s more tolerable than actually getting the tattoo in the first place.

How many sessions are needed?

Every skin type is different and every tattoo is unique with ink colours, depths and volumes. Everyone is different so it is difficult to say exactly how many sessions are required. Generally it will take 6-9 sessions, but we can access the tattoo with a free consultation to let you know how many sessions it may require.

How long will each session take?

Depending on the size of the tattoo it may take 5 minutes up to 30 minutes. It is a very quick process with Picosure technology.

Who is a tattoo removal candidate?

Ideal candidates for laser tattoo removal are men and women who:

● Got a tattoo more than six weeks ago

● Are unhappy with their tattoo

● Have light, medium, or darker skin tones

We can also access the tattoo with a free consultation to determine if you are the ideal candidate.

Are there any risks with tattoo removal?

The risk for hyperpigmentation, scarring and infection are extremely rare with the Picosure laser. The technology uses picosecond pulse duration and nanosecond lasers instead of photo thermal lasers.
