RESTYLANE - A natural beauty lift

Impressions of beauty change with time - as do our faces as we age. With RESTYLANE, you can have a natural beauty lift with the body's own material. RESTYLANE is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance, called hyaluronic acid. The gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to your skin.

Water is the source of all life, and it's key to how Restylane® works in shaping the appearance you desire.

The secret of Restylane is hyaluronic acid, a natural substance already present in the human body, that plays an important role in giving firmness to the skin, shape to the eyes and lubrication to the joints. Hyaluronic acid has the important ability to attract and bind to water molecules to help maintain volume.

Restylane utilizes NASHA™-Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid-the first stable, biodegradable, non-animal hyaluronic acid. As a non-animal product, there is limited risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction for those who are sensitive to foods such as beef, chicken, or eggs. Restylane contains trace amounts of gram-positive bacterial proteins and should not be used by patients with a history of allergies to such material. Restylane should also not be used by patients with severe allergies manifested by history of anaphylaxis, or a history or presence of multiple severe allergies.

Restylane is fully biocompatible, and treatments can be carried out immediately-with no need to wait for allergy testing.

Once Restylane's crystal-clear gel is injected into the skin, the result is greater fullness and resilience. You have the freedom to look fresher and more youthful, or to shape your features to create a more distinctive personal appearance.

What can be treated?
Restylane can be used to smooth folds and wrinkles, enhance lips and shape facial contours. The most common areas are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), the nasolabial folds (from the bottom of the nose to the corner of the mouth) and the lips, although other facial sites can also be treated. Very superficial or very deep wrinkles may be difficult to correct. Please consult your physician for an assessment. Restylane is available only through a licensed health care professional.

How is a treatment performed?
During treatment, crystal-clear Restylane gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The gel produces volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted and smoothed. When enhancing lips or facial contours, Restylane adds volume and shape to the treated area.

How long will the treatment session take?
Treatment with Restylane is very quick and easy. As no pre-test is needed, the treatment can be carried out immediately. A treatment generally takes 30 minutes, although the time varies depending on the correction you wish to have performed.

Do Restylane treatments hurt?
Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle. To optimize your comfort during the short procedure, your aesthetic physician will anesthetize the treatment area prior to injecting.

How soon will I see the results?
The results can be seen immediately.

What will I look like after the treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. After a lip treatment, the lips may become swollen and look somewhat uneven. This can persist for up to a week.

What should I bear in mind after my Restylane treatment?
During the first 48 hours after your treatment, do not massage or rub the treated area. If you have had a lip enhancement, avoid puckering your lips for the first two days after the treatment. Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. in a solarium, under a UV lamp or by sunbathing) or extreme cold.
